Extraction of teeth on a modern level is one of the extreme methods of treatment, when a tooth may not be recovered or saved, when is causes injury to mucous of cheeks, tongue, preventing normal occlusion, or when such a tooth may become a source of other, more severe complications. For instance, if there are teeth which may cause cyst, inflammations or neuritis of a trifacial nerve. Such teeth are recommended to be extracted.

There are multiple reasons for dental extraction. Teeth, destroyed by caries are first candidates for drawing, as they may not be recovered; they are the teeth, injured by periodontal disease (injured gums), as neglected cases result to gum loosening; they are broken teeth, which may not be recovered or teeth incorrectly located in a teeth row.

If a problem is caused by a third molar, then its removal refers to a complicated grade of drawing. In stomatology there are not developed rules to specify due age for removal of a third molar tooth. However, as the practice shows, it is better to get rid of such teeth sooner, as they may cause a lot of complications in the future.
